Sattu paratha (Toasted gram flour paratha)

This recipe is almost as same as the Litti Chokha recipe. The only difference is that the litti is made with the filled roundels and is cooked as it is, but while making parathas we roll out these roundels. So let's see exactly how.

Ingredients needed:

For the outer covering:
  1. Wheat flour or you can also use multi grain flour.
  2. Salt.
  3. Samal fennel OR kalaunji/mangraila
For the filling:
  1. Toasted gram flour or Sattu.
  2. Salt
  3. Vegetable oil.
  4. Samal fennel OR kalaunji/mangraila
  5. Lemon juice
  6. Fresh coriander
  7. Green chilies
Preparing the outer covering:
  1. Take 1⁄2 kg of wheat flour into a bowl.
  2. Add salt, Samal fennel seeds and a tablespoon oil into the wheat flour and mix all the ingredients properly.
  3. Knead the dough soft by adding water as needed.
  4. Keep aside.
Preparing the filling:
  1. Take 150-200 gms of  Toasted gram flour. or Sattu in a small bowl.
  2. Add Salt,Vegetable oil,Samal fennel OR kalaunji/mangraila,Lemon juice,Fresh coriander,Green chillies into it.
  3. Mix it properly with the help of little bit of water.
  4. Keep aside.
Preparing the paratha:
  1. Make roundels and shape it into a cup using your hand.
  2. Place 1-2 spoons of your prepared filling in the center of the cup.
  3. Now close the cup and roll it with a rolling pin.
  4. Toast the parathas on a frying pan/tava.
