Muli Paratha (Radish Paratha) with Chutney

Containing Vitamin C, folic acid, and anthocyanin, Radish juice helps to curb the growth of cancerous cells. In fact, radish juice is known to help in treating colon cancer, kidney cancer, stomach cancer and cancer in the intestines.

Serving : 2 people
Preparation time : 20 minutes

Ingredients needed:
  1. Radish (100gms)
  2. Salt
  3. Chili powder
  4. Coriander powder
  5. Vegetable oil
  6. Cumin /Jeera
  7. Ginger garlic paste(optional)
  8. Wheat flour or you can also use multi grain flour.
For the chutney:
  1. Fresh coriander

  2. Green chilies
  3. Indian Gooseberry/Amla
  4. Radish leaves(optional)
  5. Salt (2 tablespoons)
  6. Sugar(1 tablespoon)
Lets prepare the outer covering:
  1. Take 250-300 gms of wheat flour into a bowl.
  2. Add salt, and a tablespoon oil into the wheat and mix all the ingredients properly.
  3. Knead the dough soft by adding water as needed.
  4. Keep aside.
Preparing the chutney:
  1. Add  Green chilies, Indian Gooseberry/Amla, Radish leaves(optional), Salt, Sugar and Fresh coriander in a blender jar and blend.
  2. Your chutney is ready.
Preparing the filling:
  1. Grate radish .
  2. Heat pan and add  Cumin /Jeera seeds in it and let it crackle/tarka lagae.(What is Tadka? In Englishtadka is known as “tempering.” It is the technique in which whole or ground spices are briefly roasted in oil or ghee (clarified butter) in order to release their essential oils, thus making their flavor more aromatic.)
  3. Add grated radish,Chili powder, Coriander powder and ginger garlic paste and mix them properly.
  4. Cover and cook for some time.
  5. Now add salt and cook for 1-2 minutes. Then remove from flame.
Preparing the paratha:
  1. Make roundels and shape it into a cup using your hand.
  2. Place 1-2 spoons of your prepared filling in the center of the cup.
  3. Now close the cup and roll it with a rolling pin.
  4. Toast the parathas on a frying pan/tava.
